Property Brothers star Jonathan Scott, 43, and his girlfriend, Elf actress Zooey Deschanel, 41, are officially homeowners — and he's sharing a peek into their relationship with fans.
In the latest issue of Jonathan and his brother Drew Scott's quarterly magazine, Drew + Jonathan Reveal, Jonathan opened up about his love story with Zooey, calling her the "yin to my yang, the PB to my J." Jonathan reveals in the Winter 2022 issue of Drew + Jonathan Reveal that the couple closed on a house in June 2020, and began renovating it soon after.
In the personal essay, Jonathan writes that the two share a love for real estate and old homes. Zooey’s real estate obsession combined with Jonathan’s experience as a contractor led to a few non-committal house tours, which eventually turned into the couple purchasing their "forever home" together.
Jonathan described touring their dream home for the first time:
“[It] was a 1938 Georgian-style home designed by renowned California architect Gerard Colcord. As we pulled up the drive, it just seemed… magical. It sat on a little over an acre, and with its lush lawn and massive California sycamores, it looked like a park. This is why when we first brought the kids by the property they dubbed it the Park House. And you know what happens when you name something, whether it’s a mangy stray dog or a beautiful home of your dreams? You keep it. The next thing you know, Zooey and I owned the Park House.”
Jonathan went on to write that the Park House is where they'll get to "see the kids grow up laughing and adventuring in the yard," referring to Zooey's children with ex-husband Jacob Pechenik, daughter Elsie Otter, 5, and son Charlie Wolf, 4.

Jonathan also let fans know they can follow their renovation journey through the next few issues of Drew + Jonathan, where they can also see the final reveal. "I want the reveal to be perfect," he wrote. "I'm sure we'll change a few things once we move in, swap some furniture. But overall I want it as close to her vision as possible because I know, like [Zooey], it will be beautiful, eclectic and wonderfully unique."
