The love between Married At First Sight stars Amani and Woody may not be mutual, as she admits she doesn't love him quite yet. The beginning stages of a marriage can be telling, and some people need time to open up, but is Amani sabotaging her relationship?
Since the beginning, Amani and Woody have shown good chemistry, leading fans to believe they will have a good relationship. Woody, who works as a teacher and coach, fits in with Amani's own career goals, as she works with a non-profit organization for youth. Even though he is native to New Orleans and she is North Carolina-born and Chicago raised, both ended up in the same area and Woody seems completely taken with his new bride. But in the shadows of their dating past are hidden experiences that could threaten what they have created. Amani may be holding back in her love for Woody because of her history, even after he has admitted how strongly he feels about her.
Woody professed his love for the woman he has only known for a short time, leaving a lingering question: Is that declaration too soon? "I do really feel like I love my wife, man," Woody said after just 18 days of marriage. "I love the person that you are, which is crazy to say because I didn't know you weeks ago, but I'm ready to spill my beans," he admitted, according to Reality TV World. Host for Married At First Sight: Unfiltered since 2016, Jamie Otis, dug a little deeper, asking Amani if it seemed too early for such feelings. "No, I think that's his moment. I can't tell him when he should feel love for me." Amani reflected. "I'm excited that he's comfortable enough to share that, and I'm excited to go on that journey with him." Apparently, she's not comfortable saying it back though. Her co-star, Olivia, joined her on the show and acknowledged that it was possible Woody's declaration of love was a surprise for him at that moment. "Maybe, Woody wasn't anticipating saying that he loves her," she theorized. "But I think that's a raw, true moment." Of course, the next logical question remains. Is it possible that Amani could feel the same soon?
Jamie prodded Amani for answers, wondering if she was "starting to fall for Woody at this point." Amani didn't seem too keen on identifying any feelings of love for him. Later on, she went said that she is "choosing to go with it" with her husband, but is afraid of going into the love part. She admitted that she has had some rough relationships in the past and doesn't want to get hurt, nor does she want Woody to fall out of love with her. Even though she knew from early on that Woody was "marriage material", she also revealed that she was "stopping" herself from loving him. She does hope she can get there, believing that she could open up to loving Woody. But when she responded to Jamie's question she said, "Pastor Call has gotten me to realize that you don't fall into love."
Is it possible that Amani may have a different outlook on love? It could be preventing her from taking the leap and letting herself love Woody. Amani has no problem showing Woody how much she appreciates him and hopes she can say I love you back, but she may need to reconcile her own feelings with love before she does. She seems to be at odds with love itself, perhaps with the words or the commitment. Her unwillingness to sort it out could be unintentional sabotage. But her optimism in following Woody's lead could prove to be beneficial to their relationship.
