Grammy-winning musical icon, actor and performer Meat Loaf has teamed up with Nobody’s Hero, the prodco label launched in 2020 by Christopher Potts and Jonty Nash (Nailed It!), for a relationship competition series with a working title that recalls one of the singer’s biggest hits – I Would Do Anything For Love… But I Won’t Do That.
Created by Potts and Nash (pictured center and right, with Meat Loaf, left), the series will be produced by Nobody’s Hero via the label’s overall deal with ITV America. Meat Loaf will serve as executive producer.
I Would Do Anything for Love will test the love of real-life couples with Meat Loaf (born Marvin Lee Aday) steering the action. Couples will compete in comedic physical games designed to reveal how well they can work together, and how much they really trust and believe in one another – all to a soundtrack of classic hits, performed live in studio by the original artists, as well as new stars.
In each episode, two new couples face off for the show’s cash prize. After two rounds of physical contests inspired and accompanied by famous ballads, the couple on top will advance to the “Endgame,” where their faith in each other will undergo “the ultimate challenge.”
The project is currently being taken to market. Other Nobody’s Hero series are already in the works with platforms including Netflix, Hulu and Amazon, among others.
Said Potts and Nash in a statement, “For the most part, we want to create shows that are funny, clever and buzzworthy, but two out of three ain’t bad.”
“You took the words right out of my mouth,” added Meat Loaf.
